Dak Prescott will undergo ankle surgery on Sunday night after severe ankle injury
Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a severe right ankle injury in Sunday's game vs the Giants. According to Chris Mortensen and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Prescott will be undergoing ankle surgery on Sunday night.
The QB was running the ball when he was dragged down by Giants cornerback Logan Ryan. Prescott’s leg was pinned underneath him and as the play ended his right ankle appeared to be bent in the wrong way. A visibly emotional Prescott was eventually carted off the field. This injury happened shortly after Dak Prescott had the first touchdown catch by a Cowboys QB vs the Giants since Danny White in 1986. With Prescott out, Andy Dalton took over as the Cowboys’ quarterback.
